Kate Moetaua Foundation Scholarship
Kate Moetaua was a much loved teacher at Wakatipu High School, who loved drama, sports, her students and her family, and sadly passed away in 2018.
Kate dedicated her life to teaching and influenced the lives of so many young people, opening their eyes to the world of performance and helping them to gain confidence on and off the stage. Sadly Kate passed away from cancer at the age of 45 in 2018 leaving her husband Teaukura (T) and three daughters Anika, Aya and Malia.
One of Kate's final wishes was that a foundation was set up to support talented people in the sporting and arts arena to encourage them to follow their dreams.
The Kate Moetaua Foundation offers annual scholarship of up to $1000 for year 9-13 students to support them to follow their dreams in sports, arts, education and leadership.
Applications are invited from Whakatipu youth in years 9-13, wanting support to fulfill their dreams, where there is some financial limitations for the family.
Applications are now open until 5th September
