Whakatipu Youth Golf Development Fund

The Whakatipu Youth Golf Development Fund aims to grow youth golf in the Whakatipu, by supporting local youth who would like to play, or improve their golf.

Initial funds have been donated by the Whakatipu Junior Golf Club Charitable Trust (WJGC) and the Wombles Golfing Society.

The original purpose of the WJGC to support youth golf in the Whakatipu was  so successful it has been taken on by Golf NZ and rebranded as Futures Whakatipu. The WJGC had accumulated funds, and in addition, the Wombles Golfing Society has been quietly raising money for Junior Golf over the past few years. These funds have been pooled, and have been used to grant nearly $20,000 to local youth for golf development. Other generous donors are also contributing to the fund.
