Love Queenstown Community Fund
We are proud to be partnered with Destination Queenstown to deliver this innovative fund which will benefit the Whakatipu community and environment both now and in the future.
Visitors and businesses will be asked to donate to support localised climate, sustainability and environmental projects that actually make an impact.
Each year funds will be delivered back to the Whakatipu community in the form of grants, and a smaller percentage invested into an endowment fund which will provide for our community in perpetuity.
Love Queenstown raises funds and awareness for grassroots environmental action – ensuring we can all play our part in looking after Queenstown’s one-of-a-kind environment. Whether you’re a visitor, a local, a business owner, or a passionate changemaker, your support can make a world of difference.
Our vision
Our aspiration is for the visitor industry to enrich this place and the lives of the local community, now and into the future. To create mutual value for whānau / whānui (our families, communities, and visitors), our whenua (our place and natural resources) and our economy.
Love Queenstown was the first project to come to life from the newly adopted Destination Management Plan for the Southern-Lakes region: Travel to a Thriving Future. It is delivered in partnership with Destination Queenstown.
80% of the fund is used to mkae impact grants annually to make positive local impact now, with the balance used to build an endowment fund to protect our region future forever.
Applications are open annually in July.
