Lou's Foundation

Lou's Foundation helps local women in the Queenstown Lakes and Cromwell communities access approved but unfunded breast cancer treatments, related costs, and wellbeing costs.
This can include help with treatment, travel, accommodation, childcare, and other practical expenses connected to care. Lou’s Foundation has been created to provide practical help now, while also building something lasting in Lou’s memory.
About Lou:
Louise Scott-Gallagher loved family, friends and life.
She inspired everyone with her passion for friendship, feeding people, surrounding herself with positivity and choosing to focus on the positive outcome as much as she could, even when the cards continued to fall not in her favour.
She had a Harvard degree in making friends and keeping them forever. A collector of people from all around the world. Lou lived a full life filled with love. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a friend and her most prized role - a mum.
Lou was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer when she was 11 weeks pregnant. She had a single mastectomy, started chemo all before Lily was born at 32 weeks. She has thrived from the moment she drew her first breath.
Lou continued her fight with cancer, while working, mummying and spending time with friends and family be it in UK, Northern Ireland or Australia.
Her husband Craig, proposed to Lou on her 44th birthday and they got married on the 19th May 2025. Louise passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at their home on the 20th May 2025.
Lou’s Foundation has been created to provide practical help now, while also building something lasting in Lou’s memory.
Now is the time to help. By donating today, you are supporting local women facing the financial pressure of breast cancer treatment and related costs.
