It's Kiwi As

Most of us don't have too think too hard about what we are about. It's the place we grew up, the communities that holds us throughout our lives, and the people who made us who we are.

So it makes sense that when Kiwis think about leaving something behind, they think local. Research tells us that 88% of givers in this country direct their support to causes closer to home. Because that's where their heart is.

They are all doing or have done something that is becoming 'Kiwi As'.

Just over half of Kiwis surveyed are interested in the idea of leaving a charitable gift in their will and nearly one in five already have, like Janie and Robb.  September is Wills Month, the perfect time to join the growing numbers of Kiwis who after making provision for loved ones, are leaving a lasting legacy.

The gift that grows beyond a lifetime

After 22 years, the fund had distributed more than the original gift in Edna's will. Thanks to Acorn Foundation for sharing Ednas story.

How an endowment fund works.

The Edna Brown Fund was established through a gift in Edna's will in 2003.  The fund gives to healthcare causes in the Bay of Plenty region through the Acorn Community Foundation.

Adding a Charity to Your Will

Leaving a gift to 45South CommunityFoundation  enables you to make a bigger impact in your local community.

Unlike a one-off donation to a specific charity, gifts given through 45South Foundation are invested in perpetuity, generating income that is distributed annually to community organisations in Wakatipu and Central Lakes.

This means that a gift from a generous donor like yourself will continue to give back to the causes close to your heart. We offer the flexibility of nominating specific charities, a general needs fund, and sector funds as your chosen charity may not exist in the future, but Community Foundations will be, ensuring your gift and your wishes will be honored - forever.
